The Senior Umbrella Network is a multi-chapter organization of professionals from Long Island and the boroughs who serve older adults and the disabled. SUN provides an open forum for these professionals to network at a breakfast meeting on a monthly basis. Each chapter invites speakers regularly to provide useful information to members either for professional growth or to provide new resources for their clients. The SUN organization has a strong advocacy element. A dedicated committee drawing members from each chapter chooses a different topic yearly to educate and enlighten seniors and their caregivers. In addition, The Suffolk chapter has created a speakers’ bureau to promote its members and the Queens and Suffolk chapters have created scholarship funds. Once a year, all the chapters meet in a central location for a “mega” networking event. On this occasion, usually in mid-July, members from the individual chapters get to mingle and establish new contacts in a relaxed setting. Meet our Executive Board:
