TOPIC: American Heart Month - Recognizing the Signs of a Heart Attack
GUEST SPEAKER: Carol Patrick, NP, RN
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Carol Patrick is a dual-boarded acute and adult health nurse practitioner with over 38 years of cardiology experience in a multitude of roles including Director of Critical Care, Senior Lead NP in Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab NP.
Ms. Patrick has presented both locally and nationally on cardiac topics such as coronary artery disease in women, atrial fibrillation, advanced cardiac device therapies, anticoagulation, and sudden cardiac death. She is the AHA (American Heart Association) Sub-chair of the Communications Committee for the Eastern Region of the United States, and is both a Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor for over 25 years.
In addition, Ms. Patrick has served as adjunct faculty @ Hofstra University in creating the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program and RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) program.
She recently received her Doctorate in Health Systems Leadership from Chamberlain University, and received both her Masters and Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from SUNY Stony Brook.
